Here are some of the events happening around Ventura County this month.

Ventura Wine Walk and Holiday Street Fair

The Social Event Of The Year is Celebrating 10 Years! The Ventura Winter Wine Walk & Holiday Street Fair will once again return to beautiful Downtown Ventura on Saturday, December 7th, 2019! The Most Magical day in Ventura will kick off with the FREE Holiday Street Fair from 12pm – 8pm on the 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Main Street with vendors and live entertainment and snowfall from 6:45 pm – 8 pm On Main Street. The street fair and entertainment is FREE and open to the public starting at Noon!

At 4 pm, the Ventura Winter Wine Walk gets started! The Wine Walk will showcase world-class Wineries and Breweries in your favorite Downtown businesses. Each guest will receive a tasting cup and a map of the participating tasting sites in Downtown Ventura. Each tasting site will have a designated area set up for Wine Walk guests to sample the amazing wines or beers! Wine tasting will end at 7:00 pm. As you stroll down Main Street you will be surrounded by a winter holiday ambiance of live entertainment, beautiful holiday lighting, and snowfall from 6:45 pm – 8 pm.

Simi Valley Festival of Trees

Kick off your holiday season with the 2nd Annual Simi Valley Festival of Trees, a festive charity event benefiting Adventist Health Simi Valley’s cancer patients and their families. The event will be held Wednesday, December 4th through Saturday, December 7th at the Simi Valley Town Center, 1555 Simi Town Center Way.

Event hours:

Wednesday, December 4 5:30 – 8:30PM (OPENING NIGHT)

Thursday, December 5 4-8PM

Friday, December 6 4-8PM

Saturday, December 7 10AM-4PM

Opening Night (Wednesday, December 4th) The night to attend! All the beautiful Trees and Wreaths will be auctioned off in a fun, silent auction along with the “Lights On” program – sharing with you the “WHY” this event is so special. Enjoy food, shop the Elf Emporium and Frosty’s Sweet Shoppe for hand-made gifts and treats, Santa photo ops, and much more!

Opening Night Tickets are $20 and will be available at the door or can be pre-purchased here.

The rest of the Festival can be attended with General Admission tickets available at the door: $5/adults, $4/seniors, and $3/children ages 2-11. There will be tree viewing, food trucks, live entertainment, the Elf Emporium Boutique, and photo opps with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

This will be a fun event that supports a wonderful local cause — all monies raised during this event will go to help the cancer patients of Adventist Health Simi Valley.

Oxnard Tamale Festival

The 12th annual Oxnard Tamale Festival will be happening on December 7th from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM at Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard.  The event schedule is as follows:

Chopperfest

The 16th Annual David Mann Chopperfest will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA from 8am-4pm.

The event features a very special Motorcycle Art Exhibit, an All Brand Antique and Custom Motorcycle Show; Custom Bike Builder Displays featuring World Class Bike Builders; Hundreds of Motorcycle/Culture Vendors; a New and Used Motorcycle Parts Swap Meet; Live Rock and Blues Bands, Food and Beer.

General admission is $15, Military with ID $10, kids 12 & under are free.

Note: No Colors, No Pets, No Outside Alcohol.

Pre-Party at The Tavern, December 7th. Just two blocks from the Fairgrounds at 211 E. Santa Clara Street. Starts at 5pm.

Christmas at the Ranch With Santa

Celebrate the Christmas Season at the Historic Camarillo Ranch! Give your family the gift of a beautifully unique Christmas experience by visiting Camarillo’s very-own historic landmark, magically transformed for the holiday season. Join the Camarillo Ranch Foundation for a special historic home tour of Adolfo Camarillo’s 1892 Queen Anne Victorian Mansion plus the 1905 Red Barn transformed into Santa’s Workshop. 43rd Annual Ventura Harbor Parade of Lights

Ventura Harbor celebrates the season with its 43rd Annual Parade of Lights & Fireworks on December 13th and 14th.   The 2019 theme pays homage to all things imaginary and magical – SEAing is Believing.  Your family will enjoy a very colorful Boat Parade and Harbor Village festivities! Soak up some holiday cheer with shimmering lights, whirling kid carnival rides, boutique gift shopping, delicious dining, and more.  The schedule on the 13th and 14th is as follows:

  • 4pm to 9pm – Kids Rides & Festivities
  • 5pm to 7pm – Santa & Mrs. Claus roam the Village
  • 6:30pm – Boat Parade
  • 8pm – Fireworks (weather pending)

54th Annual Parade of Lights at Channel Islands Harbor

The Channel Islands Harbor will kick off the holidays with its 54th annual holiday Parade of Lights, themed “Musical Notes & Holiday Floats.” Entrants are asked to decorate their vessels based on their favorite holiday tunes. The event is scheduled on December 14th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.. The parade starts at 7 p.m.

Everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of holiday activities and watch festively decorated boats in the parade while listening to carolers sing holiday songs.

Beginning at 10 a.m., families can play in tons of snow falling at the north end of Harbor View Park, off Harbor Blvd. near Marine Emporium Landing, 3600 Harbor Blvd. Santa will be there from noon – 4 p.m. and will take pictures with families free of charge. There will also be holiday arts and crafts vendors starting at 10 a.m.

At 5 p.m., head over to the Channel Islands Maritime Museum and watch the Holiday Lighting of the 75-foot “Tallship Mast” in front of the museum.  Enjoy live music and sing-along to Holiday favorites.   At 6:30 Santa will arrive to flip the switch and light up the Mast. This event takes place just before the Parade of Lights starts. For those who want to watch the Parade from inside, the Museum is hosting a party that includes dinner, catered by Ventura BBQ, and a no-host bar.   Tickets are $25 per person. The parade starts at 7 p.m. in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Kiddie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for a second run. The parade can be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. Boat charters are available for those who want to watch the parade from the water.

The 58th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade & Santa’s Village “A Cosmic Christmas”

This event will be held on Dec 14 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  The theme for the 2019 Camarillo Christmas Parade is “A Cosmic Christmas” and in keeping with the theme, the Grand Marshalls will be truly out-of-this-world. Featured at this event will be bands, floats, autos, horses, Santa Claus, holiday shopping, food trucks, inflatable attractions, and live music. Santa’s Village opens at 9 am at the Community Center, Christmas Parade starts at 10 am. Travels along Las Posas Rd. starting at Temple Ave. end at the Community Center Park. The Grand Marshalls for this year are Astronaut James “Vegas” Kelly and Rocket Scientist Julie Zingerman. The event will feature Holiday Shopping, Food, Live Music, Inflatable Attractions, Visits With Santa and FREE Admission.

Santa Paddle 2019

Calling all paddlers & Santas!  Join in the Santa Paddle at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21 for some holiday fun on the water!

The Santa Paddle is a family -fun event in which participants can bring  their own equipment and launch from “C” dock in the Village (carry in own equipment from the Parking Lot) or launch at the Harbor Boat Launch area and paddle over to Ventura Harbor Village C Dock area.

Free event to participate.  Ventura Boat Rentals in Ventura Harbor Village will have rental equipment if you are in need (prices vary depending on the equipment).

Starting point is in the Ventura Harbor Village bay in front of Ventura Boat Rentals where there will be a group photo on the water. Then it’s a beautiful paddle to the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center and back for approximately 1 hour.  Santa will be leading the group on his own SUP courtesy of Ventura Boat Rentals, and you’re invited to dress in the festive spirit with reds and white, and of course Santa Hats.  A $40 prize will be given to the most festive outfit.  Safety first- please wear or have a life vest with you at all times.   Don’t want to paddle?  Electric Boats can be rented at Ventura Boat Rental as well to go alongside the paddle.

Afterwards, partake in a harbor side breakfast, warm coffee, delicious Bloody Mary, and sweet treats. Shop for fabulous gifts at Ventura Harbor Village’s seaside boutiques and artisan galleries for everyone on your list! Winter Wonderland & Holiday Market Place (including Santa, reindeer, and entertainers) will be waiting for you in the courtyard when you arrive back to shore!

Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace 2019

Rediscover the joy of holiday shopping while wondering through a festive holiday village at the popular Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace in Ventura Harbor from noon-4pm, right after the Santa Paddle on December 21st! Activities include:

  • Faux snowfall near coastal cone every 15 minutes
