Today’s post will look at the Ventura County real estate market in September 2017. Inventory has dipped below the 2 month level for the first time in a few months. Prices are down from both last month and last year, although only by a small amount. Houses having been averaging a lower sales price than listed price for quite a while now. While I don’t know for sure what is contributing to this, I do know that most reasonably priced homes get multiple offers above asking price over the first weekend.
For purposes of this and future blog posts, Ventura County statistics are based off of the following ten cities in Ventura County: Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura. This data is pulled directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and may not contain information on properties that were sold off market. Number of homes sold does not include residential income, lots and lands, or commercial.
